What Does Success Look Like to You?

What Does Success Look Like to You?

When was the last time you stopped to ask yourself what success really means… for you?

Not the version you see plastered across LinkedIn.
Not the one your high school teacher implied was the “right path.”
Not the definition based on someone else’s goals or life or timeline.
Yours.

Just what feels right now?

Because bigger isn’t always better. And burnout definitely isn’t a badge of honour.

Why the Traditional Success Story Doesn’t Fit Everyone

We’ve been sold the idea that success means scaling, growing, going “all in.” Bigger teams, more revenue, more visibility, more everything.

But for a lot of us, that version of success doesn’t actually feel like success at all.

It feels exhausting. Unsustainable. Misaligned.

And maybe… it’s just not what you want.

Maybe what you want is more time with your kids. Or a three-day weekend. Or a business that pays you well but doesn’t eat your soul.

Maybe it’s choosing impact over income.

Or meaning over metrics.

The Courage to Choose Different

It takes guts to say “nah, I’m good” when the world is yelling at you to want more.

It takes clarity to look inward and define your own version of success, especially when it doesn’t look like anyone else’s.

And it takes emotional resilience to stick with it when people question your choices (because they will).

But here’s what I know:

Different is better than bigger if different is what you want.

Success isn’t a one-size-fits-all formula.

It’s a personal definition, rooted in your values, lifestyle, and purpose.

And the most powerful thing you can do as a businesswoman is to claim it.

My Version of Success? It’s Evolved.

For me, success used to mean proving I could do it all. (Spoiler: I couldn’t.)

I fell into the trap, the belief that bigger is better.

More clients. A bigger presence. Constant growth.

That’s what we’re told success looks like, right?

I bought into it. And it pulled me off track.

I was ticking all the external boxes but slowly drifting away from my own purpose.

In chasing what I thought I was meant to want, I lost my why. And in the process I almost lost my business.

Now, success means something very different.

It’s about creating impact without losing myself in the process.

It’s about using my voice to support other women in business.

It’s about running a business that supports my life, not the other way around.
